2.Sensors

The component which senses/detects unauthorized entry and sends signal to control panels is called Sensor.

3.Mean of Communication(Siren/Call/SMS)

How you get alerted when an activity occurs is called mean of communication.In Basic alarm system you get alerted through Siren,In GSM based System you get Call/SMS when an activity occurs.

Sensors are Connected to the control panel.When sensor detects any activity it passes the information to control panel, Following it the alarm devices such as siren/speaker are activated by the control panel.In GSM based panel along with siren alert you get Call/Sms Alerts.This is how an alarm system works.
